Notes...I'd title it Memo but that never ends up well

I'm excited!!!

First of all, on behalf of the Humanities Society, I'd like to extend a thank you to the gracious people at the Old Globe for inviting us last month to watch La Pastorela Noel.
A Thank You card is under way and I will have pictures from this event posted up soon.

The site has undergone a bit of maintenance lately, the template has been upgraded to something a little more detailed and I made a new banner for the site, I hope you like it. Not that theres anything wrong with the old banner:

(Here's a modified version of it from our club forum...thanks again Felipe for helping us out with that.)

I just wanted something a little more representative of what our club is all about...and yes, I've also become addicted to photoshop.

In other news,

Our show at Salotto is coming up and we really need to knuckle down with what we're doing. If your planning on performing or presenting, please get practicing and grab a chat with one of your officers. I will have the exact date and time posted as soon as it's set.

Our first Paint and Picnic will be at Sunset Park this Sunday from 12pm to 4pm. I'd like everyone to attend, if you decide not to participate in the painting, feel free to enjoy the fresh air and mingle with other members. Visual artists, please bring easels and your choice of media. Food...please bring an item to share, we might try to access our funds to provide food for the entire club so be sure to show up. Don't forget to bring blankets, music, sports equipment, etc. Does anybody want to be a model?

Here's a little introduction for the opera we will be attending next week...
The Barber of Seville
"He’s Seville’s "King of Lather and Foam"…and master of a few other tricks as well! Barber by day, matchmaker by night, Figaro puts his wiles to work as he aids Count Almaviva in the wooing of Rosina. Beautiful and rich, young Rosina is such a catch that her sleazy guardian, Dr. Bartolo, keeps her under lock and key with the intent of marrying her himself. But no challenge is too great for Figaro, who connives with the Count to infiltrate Bartolo’s guarded home. Figaro sneaks Count Almaviva in to romance Rosina, disguising him first as a drunken soldier, then as a replacement for music teacher Don Basilio. Bartolo counters with lies and deceit, Figaro trumps with trickery. Who will win this duel of deception?" - San Diego Opera (careful when clicking this link, the audio clips are really addicting)
