Swinging into the Holiday Spirit

Happy Holidays!!!
So the semester is over (I hope everyone did well) and we have three very lovely weeks of break to relax and enjoy one of the most warmly cultured times of the year. I hope you all enjoy your vacation and come see whats going on in San Diego....

It's A Wonderful Life Showing
Come start your vacation off on a sweet step...visit downtown El Cajon on Friday, December 16, 2005 to watch the season's classic in Judson Park. The show starts at 6:00pm, show up early and bundle up with a buddy and a batch of hot cocoa.
Directions -
Take 805 North
Merge onto 54 East, it becomes 125 N
Merge onto 8 East and exit on Magnolia Ave exit towards the Civic Center
Take the Magnolia Ave South ramp
Merge onto North Magnolia Ave
Judson Park is on the corner of N Magnolia Ave and E Park Ave

Holiday Jazz and Blues Festival

Now this is what I'm talkin bout...you can't expect to bring in the holiday spirit without the sounds of saxophones and trombones spicing up the air. the festival sounds off at 11:00 am with the heavyweight jazz picking up at 1230, and continues on until the stroke of midnight. Yeahhh I can hear it now...mhmm. Bring a few friends and get your fingers snappin...

...Location: The 2005 Holiday Jazz & Blues Festival is being staged in a square block adjacent to the historic African American, Clermont/Coast Hotel (7th & Market Street) about 3 blocks from the new San Diego Padres ballpark (Petco Park) in downtown San Diego's East Village.
Admission: The festival is FREE. However, donations are accepted and will benefit the nonprofit Black Historical Society of San Diego.
Getting There: Try to take the bus or trolley to beat the parking rates but if you can't, head this way:

- From I-5 north, take the 9th Ave exit. Head south to Market Street, left to 7th Ave.
- From I-5 South, take the 10th Ave exit. Head south to Market Street, right to 7th Ave., Market Street.
- From I-94 West, continue to downtown, left on 7th Ave., to Market Street.
- From I-805 South, take the I-94 West exit, continue to downtown, left on 7th Ave., to Market Street.
- From I-805 North, take the I-94 West exit, continue to downtown, left on 7th Ave., to Market Street.

- From I-8 East, take the I-163 South exit, continue on 10th Ave, right on Market Street to 7th Ave.


- From I-8 West, take the I-163 South exit, continue on 10th Ave, right on Market Street to 7th Ave...

Night At the Theatre

La Pastorela Noel
On two nights next week, we will be attending this play at the Old Globe in Balboa Park. We've filled up the seats and we're using all of the twenty tickets generously gifted to us by the Old Globe. If you are attending, please wear decent clothing and try not to wear jeans and t shirts, you all will be representing the Humanities Society and Eastlake High School.
The show begins at 7:30pm in the Cassius Carter Centre Stage. Here's the list of people who have reserved the free tickets.
