Relay for Life and Taste of the Arts

I hope your enjoying your last few weeks of this school year. We still have much more in store for the club so don't blink.

This weekend is the American Cancer Society Relay for Life and the Chula Vista Taste of the Arts!

The Relay for Life will take place at Hilltop Elementary from Saturday at 10am to 10 am on Sunday. Its a 24 hour event that exhibits the sense of community we have and share with those afflicted with cancer. There will be plenty of food vendors, entertainment groups, and activities such as sports, games, karaoke and the signature Relay Survivor Walk, Luminaria lighting and etc. Please come down to the school and show your support for our loved ones.

For those of you who are on the Arts With Hearts Team, please arrive at Hilltop by 9:30am if possible and don't forget to bring your fundraised money. DO wear basketball style shorts/ clothing and comfortable shoes because we are the "Olympic Basketball" Team. The theme of the Relay this year is "Our Olympics" so we decided on bball. Also bring snacks and drinks to put in our cooler. During the relay, each team is expected to have at least one person on the track walking during the 24 hours. We will take turns and make sure each person has rest, bring lawn chairs or blankets to make yourselves comfortable, I will try to bring my camping tent. I hope that everyone makes a great effort to show up and really have a chance to participate in something genuinely meaningful.

The city's Taste of the Arts by the Bay is on Sunday May 21st from 10am-530pm. Come over and check out artwork and entertainment from all over the city, watch presentations and engage in creating your own masterpieces. There will be many crafts for sale in booths and always, plenty of food. There are also a few art pieces from our own school that will be displayed at the show so please support your classmates. This is a family friendly event so I strongly encourage you to bring your family and friends.

The Taste of the Arts is on the J Street Marina in Bayside Park. Just take J Street west to the sea.
