Thanks

Thanks to all the members of the Humanities Society and to our advisor Mrs. Gelastopoulos and to Mr. Arteaga for making this a successful year for the club. I hope the club continues next year and for those who were involved this year to keep your appreciation of the arts.

Also, congratulations to the graduating class of 2006, good luck in your futures. For all you underclassmen, keep focused on your goals and you will fulfill them.

Sure the school year's over and the club for now is officially on hiatus, but here's a few great things to check out this summer.

Go to the theatre. Write. Paint something. Pick up the camera and get some angles. Read a book. Recite poetry. Watch people eat, sleep, play basketball, baseball, soccer, work, yawn, blink...develop an eye for observation. Find a coffeeshop to discuss the arts (you can find me behind the counter at Caffe Salotto this summer). Pick up a musical instrument and start jamming. Paint your room. Film a movie with some friends. Visit Balboa Park, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Downtown and La Jolla, go on a hunt for San Diego galleries, go to a Kettner Night in Little Italy (July 28th), stand up and dance, make a craft with a sibling, check out a book from your library...etc. Neverending list of the artsy. Why's that?
Because...

Thanks and take care,

ART IS LIFE.
